One of the most surprising findings from the research conducted for the book, The CEO Next Door, according to Elena L. Botelho, is that highly decisive CEOs are fifteen times more likely to succeed regardless of the accuracy of their decisions. She talks about how the CEO of a company is the pacesetter for a company and the data shows that CEOs that make quick decisions with conviction set the tone for how an organization operates. Botelho points out that other data around decision making indicates that successful leaders also make fewer decisions and know how to ensure that decisions happen at the appropriate level.
