Derek Lidow describes his view of entrepreneurs which includes high-risk individuals who use other people’s money to rise to success and the majority of entrepreneurs who he calls bedrock entrepreneurs who build their businesses slowly and steadily. He discusses how the different types of entrepreneurs view risk, success, and motivation. According to Lidow, it is the bedrock entrepreneur who is responsible for 90% of the value that is created by startups in this country including new jobs, economic growth, and innovation.
