Lois Braverman, CEO of the Ackerman Institute for the Family, talks with Sarder correspondent Vaishali Jain, about her career journey from being a social worker in Iowa to the CEO of an important non-profit in New York City. She talks about her accomplishments as social worker in the field of psychotherapy in the state of Iowa, and her growing interest in family systems theory. Braverman tells her personal story of how she moved from being a therapist to individuals to family therapy to teaching other therapists what was then a revolutionary approach to family counseling which led to her current position at the Ackerman Institute.
