Jeanne M. Sullivan, co-founder of StarVest Partners, and current board member of the New York Hall of Science provides an introduction to the fifth annual program Supporting Women and Girls in STEM. The event features a special screening of Nora Poggi’s film, She Started It, and a discussion with women entrepreneurs and business leaders in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Medicine (STEM). The evening is focused on continuing the conversation on how best to help women and girls become interested in STEM and be successful as entrepreneurs in the field. Sullivan discusses the challenges women entrepreneurs have faced when trying to find funding for their businesses. She talks about how she believes that women can find both personal and professional prosperity and happiness in the field of STEM and STEAM but there are still barriers for women in the field. She introduces the panel members for the evening including Victoria Pettibone, Suma Reddy, Jennifer Lawton, Insiyah Saeed, and the moderator for the evening Anna Ewing.
