CLO Insight Summit 2017 – Vanessa Tyler interviews Rebecca Lynch – Director The Learning Center, Con Edison

Rebecca Lynch, Director of the Learning Center at Con Edison, speaks with a Sarder TV correspondent, at the 2017 CLO Insight Summit. She talks about the specific training and learning needs of staff at Con Edison including that the work is very dangerous. She explains how they are using gaming and simulation, virtual reality, and augmented reality technology to create a rich learning environment to teach employees what they need to know and keep them safe. Lynch provides examples of how this technology is being used to create the kinds of things that can happen in the field. She explains that online and virtual technology are companion learning to hands-on learning at the company’s eleven-acre campus in New York. Lynch also addresses the issue of how learning departments have taken on the role of being the curator of learning programs by helping learners negotiate all the available learning that will help employees in their current and future jobs.
