Joyce Moy (Executive Director, AAARI at CUNY)

Joyce O. Moy talks about the importance of having both mentors and sponsors if you are a woman who is looking to obtain a leadership position. She explains the importance of sponsors, who can not only give you advice but be there to offer up your name as opportunity arises. According to Moy, having effective sponsors is key for anyone looking to advance their career. She discusses the societal barriers to women’s success in business and her belief that when both men and women are on equal footing for the responsibilities of child care and home, this equality will translate to the business arena.
