Why is reliability such an important quality for a leader to possess?

Elena Lytkina Botelho  (Author & Partner, ghSMART)

Elena L. Botelho discusses why she believes reliability was one of four behaviors that turned out to be predictive of CEO success. She explains that being perceived as reliable increases the chance of being hired and in being able to be an effective leader. Botelho talks about the results of a self-assessment survey in which 11,000 people participated that indicated most individuals do not see themselves as reliable. According to Botelho, we now know there is a big opportunity for individuals to work on and improve if they want to be a successful leader in the future.
