Rich Karlgaard discusses his new book Late Bloomers: The Power of Patience in a World Obsessed with Early Achievement, and what he hopes people will learn from reading it. He talks about his own background as a late bloomer and explains why he believes the current focus on early achievement is leading to a variety of problems. These issues can include a lack of opportunities for non-early achievers and an increase in depression, anxiety, and suicide among young people. According to Karlgaard, for many people, it takes time to find that intersection of their deepest talent with their deepest passion.
