What do you mean by the term decoupling?

Thales Teixeira (Author & Associate Professor, Harvard Business School)

Thales Teixeira explains the concept of decoupling as it applies to the consumer value chain. He talks about how successful startups are basing their businesses on filling one customer need that is being missed by existing businesses. This includes offering an improvement or cost savings in one of the three areas of the value chain including value creation, value charging or value erosion covering the entire life cycle of the product or service.
