He explains why he maintains that soft skills are by far the most essential skills to have to be competitive. These skills include communication abilities, team collaboration, problem-solving, and dealing with conflict effectively. In the discussion, Thibodeaux offers the controversial view that any needed technological skills can be gained quickly and that we need to move away from the idea that to be good in IT a person needs to be good at math and science.
