Michael Emery shares his views that there may be an issue with the current focus in learning on technological solutions. According to Emery, there are so many new digital strategies that are for the human species that is not evolving at the same rate. He talks about while trends like micro learning can help employees with on the job learning but it is a questionable resource for changing the mindset of employees.

He points to the need for instructor-led learning that provides storytelling and an emotional experience that can make a difference in an approach to learning. Emery also provides an overview of ways that organizations can provide learning experiences for employees including offering MOOC courses, or in partnering with universities providing a different value proposition.
